PublishRank ("we," "our," or "us") operates publishrank.io and the PublishRank platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We believe in plain language - if anything here is unclear, email privacy@publishrank.io.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you subscribe, payment is processed entirely by Stripe - we never see or store your full credit card number.

Usage Data

We collect how you use the Service: tools you run, ASINs and keywords you research, search history, and feature usage patterns. This helps us improve the platform.

Book and ASIN Data

When you add books to monitoring, we store the ASIN, title, and publicly available Amazon data (BSR, review counts). We never access your private KDP sales figures or royalties.

Technical Data

We automatically collect IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. Google Analytics is used for anonymized traffic analysis only.

Third-Party Services

Stripe
Payment processing. Handles all card data under PCI DSS compliance. We never see your full card number.
DigitalOcean
Encrypted server infrastructure and data storage in the United States.
Google Analytics
Anonymized website traffic analysis. No personally identifiable data is transmitted.
ScraperAPI
Retrieves publicly available Amazon book data to power our tools. No personal user data is sent.
SMTP / Email Provider
Transactional email delivery for alerts, digests, and account notifications.

Data Retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. If you cancel and don't log in for 12 months, your data is deleted. You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@publishrank.io - we will respond and comply within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; export your data in a portable format; opt out of marketing emails at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link); and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@publishrank.io.

Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We use anonymized Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in browser settings, though this may affect login functionality.

Security

We protect your data with HTTPS encryption for all traffic, bcrypt password hashing, and encrypted database storage. No internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact security@publishrank.io immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
